A hard days work.

My foster mom happened to catch this pose while sitting outside one afternoon. ... I am so glad she remembered to fill the bird feeder. :)
Ahhhh... basking in the sun after hunting those birdies. Life sure is a lot nicer here than at that shelter.
And finally, at the end of the day, there is nothing better than using my foster sibling for a pillow. I am not sure how much she likes it, but I sure do like her!!

Fun on the Farm

Well, since my foster Mom forgot the camera, I will just have to tell you about my first visit to her Dad's farm in Ohio. First of all, there was so much for me to do that I just about couldn't stand it. There was a pond I dove in to as soon as I got the chance, horses that I was a little scared of at first (they sure are big), and lots of kitties in the barns. There was even another furry friend, a rescued grey hound named Richard. He thought I was a little silly.

I am doing so well in my foster home. I have learned "sit" pretty well, and am "giving paw" pretty regularly too. We are working on "down" and "stay. I am struggling with these two a little, but my foster Mom thinks I am getting better.

I am not having accidents in the house anymore, and have stopped counter surfing for the most part. Sometimes I forget, and get a stern "OFF" command. For some reason they don't seem to think I should be looking at whats on the counter.

That's about all I have for now. I will try to post more often, but with the weather being nicer, I just want to be outside hunting birds, butterflies, and sometimes even a bumblebee or two. Thast reminds me, I have to tell my foster mom to fill the bird feeder. Bye for now!!

Hey you!

Hey you! Are you out there??? Don't you think I am just so handsome?? Look at those light brown eyes and those freckles on my face. My foster Mom thinks I am as sweet as I am handsome....as a matter of fact she knows I am.

My foster mom was trying to get a nice shot of my face, but those darn birds kept chirping and getting my attention.

Look out, here I come!!!! I would love to come right into my furever home. Are you the family for me?

New Foster Home!

Here I am with my foster Dad a couple of weeks ago. He thinks I am a sweet boy, but a little shy. He is loving me and giving me lots of hugs to help make me more comfortable.

Yeah!!! I have a foster sister named Molly. I love napping with her and being around other nice dogs too. I am doing well in the house and am sleeping in my crate now without any problems.
I also love walks and am doing pretty well with the leash. My foster Mom takes me for rides in the car a lot and she is so proud of how nice I am in the car even without the crate.

I am definitely having fun in the yard and I love to be outside. Sometimes I don't want to come back in the house, but I am getting better at coming in when I am called.

Woohooooo!! I have discovered the family of squirrels in the tree. I sure wish they would come down and play with me.

Sawyer is in recovery!

Hi, my name is Tom Sawyer and the beginning of my life was quite adventureous---though I will not elaborate too much here---as I'd rather forget about it. In any case---I found myself at a shelter and Illinois Birddog Rescue was able to come and get me before my life was cut short. Phew---was that close!

I'm in temporary foster care now and try to learn how to relax and get this "living a civilized life" think down pat!The outside yard is cool! I like to explore it.

Now house rules confused me a little...I tried to check up on the counter "what's for dinner", and suddenly heard a stern "NO!". Hmmh...I guess I'm not supposed to do this...I found this interesting bucket---had loads of toys in it. Evidently it's fine if I check this out...I like the comfy life I get to lead now!!! I'll write more when I get to my new foster home.
